Building a Stronger Connection to Jersey City’s Creative Community

When I first started Tarik Talk, I had the opportunity to speak with an incredible range of professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, gallerists, cultural leaders, and members of our talented local creative community. Through those conversations, I began to recognize something that was missing: a central platform where people could easily discover what was happening across the Jersey City arts and cultural community.

There are extraordinary artists, galleries, exhibitions, open studios, cultural organizations, public art projects, performances, festivals, and creative events happening throughout Jersey City. Yet information about them can often be scattered across different websites, newsletters, social media accounts, and organizations.

Jersey City Art was created to help bring that information together.

My vision is for this website to become a bridge between the people creating art and the people who want to experience and support it, a place where artists, creatives, residents, collectors, visitors, and anyone interested in the arts can discover Jersey City artists, galleries, exhibitions, events, cultural spaces, and creative opportunities in one organized destination.

Through the website, podcast, newsletter, event listings, Art Guide, and ongoing coverage of the local arts community, Jersey City Art aims to make it easier to stay connected and, most importantly, to help ensure that great local events, exhibitions, artists, and creative spaces don’t go unnoticed.

This platform is ultimately about supporting Jersey City’s creative community and making its art and culture easier to discover.

I’m excited for Jersey City Art to continue growing alongside the community it celebrates—and to serve as a helping hand for anyone who wants to discover, experience, and support the arts in Jersey City.
